Project Summary

The Opportunity

Satechi was one of the first consumer electronics brands to design type-c products and has since become a leader in the industry. Satechi found themselves in a challenging situation when their previous vendor unexpectedly discontinued their technology offering before completing the development of a new Shopify store, leaving them with an incomplete and disconnected React codebase that lacked essential features. To resolve this issue, Satechi turned to VividFront to take over and finish the project.Beyond needing a completed storefront, Satechi had a number of other specific success criteria for the project, which included improved site speed, the necessity for front-end and back-end interfaces to mirror the functionality of their old website, complete control over content management, and a scalable technology infrastructure that would support future iterations and growth.

The Strategy

VividFront developed a custom React-based frontend that maintained the same user interface while seamlessly integrating with Satechi's existing e-commerce backend. Using this approach ensured a smooth transition for both internal team members and site visitors. The brand new React frontend paired with Storyblok's headless CMS provided intuitive controls for efficient content updates across multiple channels.

The Results

VividFront successfully created a brand new, SEO-optimized website that replicated the functionality of Satechi's old website while meeting Google's best practices for site speed. The new website infrastructure achieved significantly improved performance metrics, enhanced user experience, and increased engagement rates. Ultimately, the headless infrastructure provided Satechi with a powerful, flexible e-commerce solution, positioning them for continued growth and success in the market.

Post-Launch Website Optimizations

Since the initial project was conceptualized prior to VividFront's involvement, design improvements became a key focus of the post-launch relationship. VividFront has since redesigned key parts of the website, including an overhaul of the entire buyer journey, starting with a new search engine all the way to the post-purchase confirmation page.

Enhanced Search Experience

VividFront implemented sophisticated filtering capabilities, allowing users to narrow down search results based on various product attributes such as price range, product category, color, and technical specifications.

Upgraded Add-to-Cart View

VividFront also migrated Satechi's checkout from Liquid to Checkout Extensibility, a faster, more secure, more customizable alternative, alongside a redesigned slide cart to be more visually appealing and streamlined.
